I've just installed Eudora. When I close the program, it tells me I
have messages waiting to be sent. But I can't find them. I didn't
intentionally queue any messages; I don't know what it's on about. In
any event, I want to look at them.

I just changed from Outlook Express, so I'm looking for the "draft"
folder equivalent.

Thanks for any help.

Outgoing messages are in the "out" box.

Try:
Look in the OUT mailbox

I did look in the OUT box, assuming they would be there. All messages
in the out box have been sent and received (I checked). The question is
not what's in the OUT box, but where are the queued messages?

The OUT box contains messages that have been sent and received. What
I'm looking for is the alleged queued messages.

They have to be in the OUT mailbox somewhere, that is where Eudora
puts them. Do you have a *sticky sort* on the Out mailbox?
What is it sorted by?
Try sorting by Status.

It's still the out-box. They've been written and either saved, or
else you hit send but were offline or the server was down.

If you open the outbox, you can click on the column on the far
left. It has a blue ball as an icon at the top. By clicking on that
blue ball, you sort by that column. Most of the messages will
have a check-mark, meaning they have been sent. Look for
messages with a blue ball (just like at the top of the column)
to find messages which are saved, but not sent.

I don't think you're getting it.

Eudora queues your outgoing messages in the "out" box. The message
status will be "queued" until it's successfully sent, then it's status
is changed to "sent".

By the way, received messages won't be in the "out" box unless you
specifically moved them there. Received messages are placed in the
"in" box by default.

The Out box contains both drafts and, if you are keeping copies and
haven't filtered them elsewhere, messages that have been sent.

Under no circumstances will received messages be there unless you
transferred them, either manually or automatically.

Lordy, but you are slow... if they are *queued* they are in the Out box
unless you have moved them.

How many messages do you have in your Out box and is it sorted in any
way?

I will like to suggest to you to read the Eudora's manual.

If you are using the latest Eudora 5 and I think you have properly saw
the manual's download link in the same webpage as where you download
the Eudora program.

As several others have said, queued messages will be in the "out"
mailbox.

If you want messages to be sent as soon as you write them, click on
"Tools/Options/Sending Mail", and check "Immediate Send" - however, if
you are composing messages off-line, that will cause Eudora to dial up
so it can send the message. I prefer to check "Send on Check"
instead, so I can compose several replies, and then make Eudora dial
up at my convenience, using either the "Check for new mail" button, or
"File/Send queued messages".

When you click SEND you can hold down the Shift key which will enable you to
chose either QUEUE or Send (immediately).
Letters that have been sent will have an ordinaty "check character", whereas
those that are queued will instead have an odd character, usually bold, maybe
meant to look like a q.
If you keep your outbox open while sending the mail you'll see the q (or
whatever) change into the "sent-check".
Helpful if you want to close your connection just after sending off your mail.

Nope, the out box isn't sorted. At the time when I posted the question,
there were four messages, all sent by me to my other email address, all
received. The only four messages I'd sent from Eudora at the time.

Eudora suggested uninstall and reinstall, which I did, and it's working
fine now. Sorry about depriving you of the ego boost which you
obviously desperately need.
