I have McAfee Virus and Firewall. I am using Windows XP and Eudora 5.2. When
I check for email, one personality loads it and the other one will start
loading it; then McAfee encounters the above virus. It reads, A virus has
been detected and cleaned! The file C:\Program
Files\Qualcomm\Eudora\spool\NA...@mindspring.com\RCV130.tmp was infected by
the Exploit-MIMI.gen.exe virus and has been deleted"

When I continue to try to download my mail I keep getting these messages
with different "RCV" numbers. I have deleted many of these but still can't
get past it and my mail is piling up. Any suggestions?

does your ISP offer web access to mail? if so, you could just delete
that message. else, you could ask someone at their end to delete it.

Your AV program is deleting Eudora's spool file, so Eudora can't download
and process your mail. If you can't delete the offending message before
trying to download it with Eudora, you could set your AV program to just
notify you when a virus is found and then delete the offending message
after Eudora has processed it. Or, if you can't do that, you could try
turning on email checking and let the AV program delete the specific
message rather than the spool file or temporarily turn it off altogether
until the message is downloaded.

I use Norton and you can exclude the spool files (*.rcv) to allow it Eudora
to process the message and the AV program handle the attachment. I would
think you program would have similar options.

You may have to just exclude the Eudora spool folder (and subfolders which
handle other than default account).

Hope this helps...
