I use Eudora 6.2.4 under OSX 10.4.11.
Thanks.

How long is long, in this case?
I remember that it used to, when I was using version 1.5.something, but
hasn't done so for years. Certainly my 6.2.4 in 10.4.11 doesn't appear
split mails here.

There are two specific "x-eudora" settings involved here. The first is
<x-eudora-setting:6408>, which is the size of the fragments when
messages are split (paste that into a new message and double-click to
set it). Its value on my system is 200000, and I'm unsure what the unit
of measure is for it. The second setting is <x-eudora-setting:7619>
which is set to 250000 for me. It must be less than the other setting
and specifies the size of split fragments.
As I said, I don't know the units of measure, whether lines or bytes or
something else, though I suspect it's bytes. You can experiment to see
if it's possible to set these in such a way as to eliminate splitting
messages.

Curious...
The values you suggest you set for these are the defaults, and my values
are much smaller. I tried repeatedly to set the values as you suggest. I
changed the value and poked 'Set Setting' and the window closed. But on
double-clicking on your setting text again, it showed the original
value. I also tried poking the 'Revert to Default' button with the same
useless effect.
I'm perplexed.

Can you change *any* settings succesfully? In other words, is your
Settings file healthy, and do you have write privileges?
