Please excuse the cross-posting, but since I have a cross-platform
issue, I believe it may be appropriate.

As the Subject says, I have an end-user currently running Eudora
(v7.1.0.9 paid) under Windows XP Pro SP3. We need to migrate him to
Outlook (from MS Office 2011) running under Mac OS X (10.7, a.k.a. "Lion").
We would welcome suggestions of any third-party tools that would facilitate
the migration to preserve as much of the data from Eudora in as functional
form within Outlook as possible (messages and address book). Native processes
that would maintain the usefulness of the data are also welcome. We don't
mind moving to an intermediate form of data storage, if necessary. The
end-user currently uses POP3 (w/o leaving mail on the server), so most of his
e-mail resides on his Windows PC. We would like to maintain this data locally
on the Mac within Outlook. We don't plan on maintaining POP3 access within
Outlook for future e-mail access; we'll be moving to IMAP.

Regards,
Mike

In article <jm1msg$sre$1...@news1.cse.ohio-state.edu>,
There may be better tools, but I have managed to transfer mail
reasonably successfully by creating an IMAP account somewhere, setting
it up in Eudora, dragging all the mail on the Mac to the IMAP folders
using Eudora, then on the new machine grabbing it all back from the IMAP
account. It's a bit tedious in that the whole mass of mail has to be
copied twice, but the advantage is that it uses Eudora's access methods
to retrieve the mail and is therefore less likely to have problems.
