It puts 2 Mime-Version headers in my outgoing messages. This causes
some picky ISPs to reject them.
Has anybody else encountered this glitch with Eudora? Any suggestions
for making it behave better?
I'm using the same version of Eudora and only have one Mime-Version
header in my outgoing messages. Have you maybe installed a plugin that
adds extra headers, such as Super Sleek or Sleek-A-Boo? Maybe that's
causing the problem. If not, I'd suspect maybe a corrupted Settings
file. You could check that possibility by temporarily renaming the
Eudora Settings file to force Eudora to create a new one and see if the
problem persists.

As far as I can tell, I have the same here in 10.4.11 and 10.5.8.
It does sound as though there's some problem with the setting file.
Matt; have you got Esoteric Settings enabled? Might there be something
set in there?

Meaning *no* duplicate headers. D'oh...

Thanks, Kathy. That pointed me in the right direction.
I have lots of plugins. I turned them all off and the problem went
away. Then I started turning them back on until I found the culprit.
It's RandomSigTags. That's a plugin that randomly selects a quote from
a file whenever a message is sent, and adds it to the signature.
As far as I know, there has been no active development on that plugin
for years, and I don't remember who the author is or how to contact him.
So there's not much chance of getting it fixed.
But the number of ISPs that object to the duplicate header is very
small. And the plugin has a menu to allow it to be enabled/disabled on
the fly, without restarting Eudora. So I can disable it when I need to
send a message to somebody at one of the strict ISPs.
