PC to MAC self-extractor needed

I want to distribute a couple of self-extracting files from my web site.
Someone should be able to download the file, which should be able to
self-extract to its own directory without the user having to open a separate
expansion utility. This is to make it easy for inexperienced users.

For PC users I can use Winzip to make an EXE file to extract on Windows
machines.

1. Is there an app that will let me use a Windows machine to MAKE a
self-extracting file that can be downloaded and opened on a MAC machine? Or
must I MAKE the self-extracting file while I am working ON a Mac machine.?

2 If I absolutely have to prepare the self-extracting file while working
ON a Mac machine, is there an app I should be using other than the Aladdin
application -- Stuffit Deluxe?

Please respond ASAP since I am hot to trot.

don't know about "should" but check out Installer VISE
