Interesting new problem.

All of my applications that have type/creator of APPL/???? are showing up in
the GET INFO window with a "kind" = self extracting archive!

Apps with both type/creator set to something besides ???? show up, as you'd
expect them to, as applications!

I've rebuilt the ~/library/preferences/*LS* files.
I've rebuilt the various partitions invisible desktop files "Desktop D?".
I've redone the prebinding (OS X 10.1.5).
All disk utils and virus utils check out fine.
I've created a new user, with fresh prefs, and it has the same problems, as
does the root account.
I've checked Internet Config info, via Internet Explorer, and it looks ok.

Somewhere, there must be a file that tracks (file extension) and/or
(type/creator) info, but where is it?

Any ideas?

Did you try changing the app to be associated with each type of
document file in its Get Info window? This is the easiest way to
associate a document file type with a specific application. (First the
"Open with" button, then the "Change all" button.)

Hi,

I have installed a Dynamode NC-100TX-R Ethernet card, which is fitted
with the Realtek RTL8139D chip, in my 6400/200 Mac running 7.5.3.

I have been unable to find a driver (extension) after extensive
searches.

Hoping that somebody can help me.

Regards,

Eric
