iMovie question

I do not yet own a mac, but hope to buy the end of the year. My
question is regarding iMove -- The digital camera I am likely to
purchase is the Panasonic PVDV101 -- this camera is not specifically
listed on the mac web site as compatible...the PVDV100 is however. I am
asuming that this is because of year-end model changes.

However, to be sure, has anyone used this model camera successfully?
What problems did you experience if any?

The web site at apple listed specific cameras -- with compatability notes on
some of them. I don't want to buy something I will regret -- I will likely be
buying the camera first, then the mac -- not sure yet, still trying to
scrounge up the money.

I just wish Steve Jobs would get his heat out of his rump and price more in
line with the market....
