I've been programming in Clipper5.2 for the last 10 years, now I have
been asked to evaluate xharbour, but I'm struggling to find out how to
get started in xharbour ( in a dos 6.22 environment).
I need to know how to recompile and link an existing clipper
application in xharbour.
I also need to know how to include routines written in MSC v5.10 and
how harbour handles RS232 communications.
I know this seems a lot to ask and I'd be greatfull for any help.

xHarbour allows you to make Windows and Linux executables, and
when you do this you have access to more resources. The DOS
version of xHarbour is not much better than Clipper... why
bother?
I cannot help you with the rest of your questions...

Mark,
I use:
set include=c:\xhb\include
C:\XHB\BIN\XBUILD.EXE %1
IF ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO EOJ
%1
:EOJ
I like xHarbour because it can read Visual Foxpro dbfs, which Clipper
can't.
