Hi All:

With the gracious permission of Ron Pinkas, I have placed the xbscript package on whosaway.com for both Harbour and xHarbour forks to download.

Below is the message I posted on the Harbour Users Group:

Hi All:

Thanks to the permission given by Ron Pinkas (one of the original developers of the xHarbour Fork), the excellent DBF Editing tool - XBSCRIPT - is now available for download from www.whosaway.com.

It is located at the very bottom of the download list.

The file list inside this zip package:

- xbscript.exe and xbscriptdll.exe : the executables which provide access to your databases.

- xbscript.txt : a text file which show how to use xbscript in various modes. Read this carefully to get the most from this tool.

- xbs.bat : a batch file to start up the xbscript executable and provide a DOT Prompt (Exit or Quit gets you out of this mode)

- rp_dot.src and rp_run.src : two text files which should be looked at in detail. But see xbscript.txt for further *careful* use of them.
(Guess what thr 'rp' letters stand for here ) :))

- test.dbf : a little dbf file you may wish to exercise the features that Ron ha built into this tool.

Note:
I use this excellent tool mostly to browse files at the Dot Promt (as follows):

. USE TEST
. BROWSE

and then sometimes to get rid of some records in the database (as follows) :

. GOTO 20
. DELETE
. PACK

and sometimes to actually Modify the Structure of the database (as follows) :

. MODI STRU

(Fasten Your Seatbelt from here on :)))

Thank to Ron again for his permission to disseminate this powerful tool !

-Mel Smith
