Hi.

Does any body try Windows 2012 r2 text mode printing?

I'm trying to print testwprn.prg to default printer and I can see that in "what's printing window" xxxxxx.tmp file coming up with size of 531 bytes , but nothing else going on, no output on the printer.
File just disappears somewhere without physical printing.

Default printer name is showing and it is correct name.
I have print server installed and Windows 2012 OKI 9pin V4 driver, and do not have direct printing enabled on the driver, because it's disabled somehow, hope it's not a reason.

Cheers.
Ivan

I have had the printer sit for the longest time, because either I never sent an eject character, or never closed the printer device.

Bingo.

Don't know if you have looked at Micro$haft's resources yet:

Dear David.

Same print testwprn.prg code working just fine on old 2003 TS.
After reading some resources come to conclusion that may be print OKI 9 pin v4 driver not working properly.
I have one new OKI 5721 printer , so it was very easy to update driver , now it's appears like v3 and I been able to print to this printer.

Now, back to the egg - all the rest of connected printers are old OKI 3410 and OKI 3320. By some reason there is no such print drivers in W2012 r2.

Log file showing that OKI v3 driver using "winprint" processor , same as it was on w2003 TS , but when it's dealing with a new w2012 r2 OKI 9pin v4 driver print processor set to "MS_XPS_HYBRID_PROC" which might be a source of a problem :
"A fatal error occurred while printing job C:\Users\ADMINI~1.CQF\AppData\Local\Temp\2\xht7D2.tmp, id 6 on the print queue OKIXX. The print filter pipeline process was terminated. Error information: 0x8051100F."
"The print job 6 was sent through the print processor MS_XPS_HYBRID_PROC on printer OKIXX, driver OKI Dot-Matrix 9Pin ESC/P Class Driver, in the isolation mode 0 (0 - loaded in the spooler, 1 - loaded in shared sandbox, 2 - loaded in isolated sandbox). Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 0x8051100F."

Cheers,
Ivan

Doesn't matter, really. Micro$haft loves change.

As I meant when I said "Bingo" in my response.

So I guess you read the link I provided, and it worked. Good job.

For the 3410:
http://www.oki.co.uk/support/printer/troubleshooting/detail.aspx?id=tcm:122-144822&prodid=tcm:122-4147

For the 3320:

I have tried neither.

You might want to have a separate machine share its printers with the server. Or give each printer its own Ethernet server.

Dear David

Have it sorted with v3 drivers

What related to OKI Dot-Matrix 9Pin ESC/P Class Driver - this kind of a mystery of print processor which is locked up to "WinPrint" but yet still using "MS_XPS_HYBRID_PROC" as it says:
"The print job 6 was sent through the print processor MS_XPS_HYBRID_PROC on printer OKIXX, driver OKI Dot-Matrix 9Pin ESC/P Class Driver"

Processor sometimes using MS_XPS_PROC as well as MS_XPS_HYBRID_PROC
Those strings related to PrintFilterPipelinePrxy.dll
