Firstly, I'm a Mac user (I can just hear you clicking the next button).
Secondly, I'm new to VRML. I've worked in Infini-D and StrataStudio Pro,
and have a good knowledge of HTML.
I'm interested in authoring packages for VRML on the Mac particularly
for building a cityscape.
If anyone can point me to some tools or reference material with regards
to CyberArchitecture I would be most greatful.

A state of contentment means
that you've overlooked something.
It's not an authoring tool per se, but as an Infini-D user you might
want to check out MacDXF2VRML at the URL in my .sig
You're still left with a lot of hand editing, but the geometry gets
converted and that saves a lot of typing. ;)

DXF->VRML1.0 on a Mac! http://world.std.com/~eisen/dxf2vrml.html

Extreme 3D 1.02 offers a downloadable E3D -> VRML converter from the
Macromedia website. It was written by Tony Parisi & Co. at Intervista.
Exports both in VRML 1.0 and VRML 2.0 Draft #2 format. Supports anchor,
texture, and inline links. Can replace geometry with VRML primitives for
lower file size.
Extreme 3D itself is a full spline-based modeler with vertex-level
editing. The same scene can be set to render with many polygons for
photorealistic rendering, or few polygons for realtime rendering... one
model, many resolutions. Polygons can be automatically concentrated in
areas of highest curvature for automatic optimization. The tool is
CAD-accurate with true 3D snapping, and so is particularly useful for
cityscapes.
Extreme 3D 2.0, shipping next month, brings a full post-SIGGRAPH VRML 2.0
export option right inside the program. URLs are an intrinsic property of
each object. Animation tracks can be exported as a separate text file for
use if you're creating interpolation nodes. Also offers 3DMF
import/export, so you can use your existing models from Strata or
Specular.
E3D is available on both mac and Win. Version 2.0 requires PowerMac or
Win95/NT. Most economical way to get it is as part of the insanely
low-priced FreeHand Graphics Studio, which includes a number of other
web-based optimizations via Shockwave. More info's at www.macromedia.com.
