Newline in ASSERT/REPORT statements

Hi,

Is it possible to insert a newline in the report statement?

Yes! (I too learnt it recently via this NG), you can use " lf "
(line feed) as a string to insert newlines. AN example:

report "CLKOUT is " & STD_LOGIC'IMAGE(CLKOUT) & lf & "clkrate is
000" ;

^^^^ --> Will insert
a newline!!

If you want to report the value of objects that are vectors or integers, you
could also use the image package at my site.
report "CLKOUT is " & IMAGE(Data32bits) & lf & "clkrate is " &
Image(IntegerRate) ;

For Hex displays, you can also use the HexImage function instead.
