Thanks for the release.

I thought Tcl/Tk is no longer maintained on SF but on the fossil repository.

Sorry for nagging.

The announcement mentions "beta" update (is it really a beta?)

Also, source code pointers need to be updated to core.tcl.tk, not sf.net

And you are quite right. That is wrong in the text. Will fix it to be
ready for the next release.

The proper location is

http://core.tcl.tk/tcl/

No problem.

No. Fixing that in my notes.

Is the command "teacup update" enough to update to this version? or must I re-download the package and install it from the start?

Another very crucially important thing, when shall we see fribidi support?
I want to be able to make Tk apps with Arabic language. It looks like when I tell people about Tcl/Tk they love it until they hear about that fribidi is unsupported and then refrain from using Tcl/Tk. I made a solution, but it's NOT what the people usually expects.

Also some think that Tk looks ugly.

You should use the themed widgets (the ttk variety): these give a much better look and feel.

No. teacup is for handling packages, and the core Tcl/Tk is not
treated as such.

You can install the distribution over an existing installation. This
way you can keep the other packages you have installed.

That might be best asked on the tcl-core mailing list. I myself have
no experience with anything regarding bi-directional rendering of
text.

What do they use instead?
