Somehow I can't believe that for a given application, the source code
size would be three times larger in Tcl compared to the same application
written in Perl. Have I missed something, or is their list woefully out
of date?
Woefully out of date is probably most accurate. They are talking about
1996 status after all, and it does seem like their tasks must be db
or datasheet oriented, given several of the languages included.
Note their own statement:
The relationship between source code statements and Function Points
has only been subject to research for a few years, so the margin of
error in Table 2 can be quite high.
They do have a contact to correct information. If someone would like
to follow up on what their tasks were (odd that they don't publish
them), that would be great.

Sorry the table has not been updated for quite some time now.
I guess its to be expected. There's no apparent benifit for SPR to expend the
resouces to keep the table current.
