looking for "-scale" in the "search in pages" box does not find
http://wiki.tcl.tk/11924. Seems it should. I do notice that the word -
scale on the missed page is in bold and in "code" style.

I wonder if perhaps google hasn't indexed that page yet. There was a
problem discovered within the last week regarding google coverage of
wiki pages. The "search in pages" box uses google web searching.

On the other hand, if, in the "search in titles" box you type "-
search*" (the * indicating that you want the preceeding word searched
within wiki pages rather than in titles) then the page in question
does show up.

Perhaps in a few weeks the wiki pages will be more fulling indexed and
it will show up in the google search as well.

In standard Google searches, a hyphen before a word asks Google to
search for pages *not* containing the word. I think it is the same here:
'search in pages' is powered by Google and uses the Google syntax. You
have to search for 'scale' to get the results for '-scale' too.
