Really a nice library. It seems to work till now, but it also seems
it is not mantained. A pitty if it get lost. Really no one using it?!

I am struggling writing a simple, meager, command line player for
a small project.

There is a command for pausing the playing, but I do not find anything
to skip forward or backward the playing. I have some ideas, but
perhapss more complicated than necessary. Perhaps when I awake
tomorow, someone has a better idea. :)

I use libvlc:

This is all audio only. I use it on Linux, Windows, Mac OS.

chw has a version that handles video also:

Thanks. It looks nice! Good to know there is an alternative,
and mantained.

Snack remains interesting for analysis of sound files, but I
need at the time only playing.

Unfortunately I was not aware of it. I will try it later.
