Background errors are handled by passing them to the command [bgerror]
which takes a single argument. Have a look at Tk's for a sample. If
that fails to handle them, the details are written directly to the
channel "stderr". (The relevant code, in tcl/generic/tclEvent.c, is
very crufty though, and could do with some attention...)
