What is the status of tk's thread-awareness? I notice that
--enable-threads is a flag that is available in the configure file for
Tk. Does it really attempt to make Tk thread aware, or only on certain
platforms, or not at all?

I hope that it doesn't try to make it thread aware on platforms where
Tk can't run as thread aware... that could be disasterous for someone
unaware of the trap...
