I recently gave my Intel pc to a friend, and I am using my powermac g5 quad as my main (only) machine. I looked for a while, but I couldn't find a 64-bit scheme anywhere for my Powermac, and now I'm sad. Does anyone know where I can get a 64-bit binary that works with powermac g5s? Or can anyone guide me on the best way to build one myself? Or does anyone have a binary they can give me? My os is Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8 .

P.S. A 64-bit binary of mit-scheme for my g5 would be AMAZING! Right now I'm using 32-bit chez, but it can't make-equal-hash-table :(

You can probably build MIT Scheme from source. You can definitely build Chicken from source on the Power Mac; see <http://www.call-cc.org>.

A search suggests that Xcode 3.1.4 should be the latest to work. Login
at https://developer.apple.com/downloads/ and search for "xcode 3.1.4".

Gambit has prebuilt binaries for Mac OS X on G5s.

Nice! It is so awesome that gambit has binaries for the g5 specifically :D I love scheme, and I love my G5! I will check it out! I'm currently building mit-scheme from source as well, let's see how long it takes :p

What version of Chez? Chez has EQUAL based hashtables at least since 8.0,
or am I misunderstanding?
