ruby library for monitoring virtual comport ?

Hi,

a friend of mine reads the status of a virtual comport
with linux socat and writes the output to a file, means he's
able to read data but unable to send data.

Now he wants to have a real web application that
monitors this virtual comport, means he wants to
get data, send data to it and present status via web.

Any ruby libraries for that purpose ?
