does anybody else experience weird things with thread view of
comp.lang.ruby (the newsgroup, not mailing list or forum)? I have just
reported an issue over at Mozilla's. Details can be found here
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536757
Kind regards

All I get is "double posts", where Thunderbird
<sarcasm>helpfully</sarcasm> inserts my sent email into the threaded
view, and then, of course, adds the ML copy of my sent mail. Still
haven't figured out which message to kill on my end so I get a proper
thread view. ;)
My guess is that this is made worse in newsgroups, due to the gateway
mirroring the posts both ways, and Thunderbird hiccups on the Message ID.
Or something.

I'm still on 2.0 and have never had any problems with the threaded
view...not sure if that is helpful info or not.

Alas, no. Thunderbird 3.0 introduced "smart folders", which are supposed
to make things easier.
IME, they are neither smart, nor make they things easier. :P

Same here. TB 2.x works like a charm. I deliberately wanted to know
whether someone has seen the same effects on 3.0 I am seeing.

I also switched them off after an initial trial phase (which was very
brief). :-)
