Hi group,
I have a HP2200 Laserjet.
If I print a postscript document in landscape orientation (shows landscape with gv
on Linux), the page comes in portrait out of the printer
and the right part of the page =>andscape<= is missing and the lower part is empty.

Can I put a postscript command into my ps to force landscape printing
or is this probably a printer configuration or filter configuration problem?

Thanks,
Michael

Post an URL to a sample file. It is hardly possible to give you any
advice
as some PostScript generators put some code into the job to properly
render
landscape pages and others do not. gv on the other hand may interpret
DSC
comments (as "%%Orrientation: landscape" etc) which printers usually
don't.

What printing system on what platform do you use? The ps file is ok; is
prints on an
HP printer (HP 4100 dn in this case) ok (both using CUPS as printing
system
and ftp as raw transfer protocol). So i guess your spooler is inserting
some code
into the wrong place.

I use SuSE Linux 8.1, in yast2 I have the following configuration:
Druckermodell: HP: LaserJet 3200
Anschluss: Gefilterte Weiterleitungs-Warteschlange nach lp auf LPD-Server lpcal1
Einstellungen für den Druckerfilter:
Ghostscript driver 'ljet4d': driver 'ljet4d'
resolution: 600x600 dpi
paper size: A4

The physical printer is a HP 2200.

Thank you,
Michael

I know the reason now,
I changed the configuration from LJ3200 to LJ2100.
Now I can print landscape.
Sorry for the noise.
