I am trying to modify an EPS file using psresize and pstops. Neither
command is having any effect on my original document! No error
messages, no effect, nothing. Following are some of the commands I've
tried:
C:\burn>pstops -q -b -w2590.909065 -h5538.4614 1:0L@1(100,-80) hehe.eps
hihi.eps
C:\burn>psresize -q -w2590.909065 -h5538.4614 -W2850 -H6000 Orig.eps
RESIZED.eps
C:\burn>pstops -q -b -w2590.909065 -h5538.4614 1:0L@1(100,-80)
RESIZED.eps TOPS.eps
C:\burn>pstops -q -b -w2590.909065 -h5538.4614 1:0L@1(100,-80) Orig.eps
TOPS.eps
C:\burn>psresize -q -w25 -h55 -W2850 -H6000 Orig.eps REALLYSMALL.eps
C:\burn>psresize -q -w25 -h55 -Plegal Orig.eps REALLYSMALL.eps
C:\burn>pstops -q -b -w2590.909065 -h5538.4614 1:0L@.2(100,-80)
Orig_NoGarbage.eps REALLYSMALL.eps
My eps files use the Adobe Document Conventions. They open fine using
ghostscript and ghostview. When I open the altered documents in a text
editor, I see that a chunk of postscript code gets added to them. This
code getting added is nearly identical for both psresize and pstops!
The size variable I stated on the command line are not included in it.
Whatever it is supposed to do, it is not doing it.
I am using these utilities in Windows 2000. Does anyone have any
idea?? Please let me know.

psutils (psresize, pstops, etc.) are for PS documents that are ready to
be printed.... one or more pages.
EPS is considered a graphic file format.
Your EPS file is not a PS document and is not ready to be printed. It
can, however, be included in a PS document.
