The part number of the CD-ROM of the Delphi Upgrade ($5.95)
is the same as that of the CD-ROM you get with the full
installation of Delphi (~$500.00).

So says a Borland customer representative.

Yes. It is clearly the same as the freshly bought new-license copy.
:) which may explain why it couldn't be placed as is on an ftp site.

The pdf format docs on disc seem to be for the C/S version even though
the version I have is the desktop. [No, that was not a complaint].

If you hold down alt and type version in the about box, it says it is
version 1.47.136.0 [Yes, I would like a more systematic, less
say-the-secret-word way to get at this information].

You may want to save a copy of the source for your current vcl library
since the installation takes you back to plain vanilla, omitting all
those lovable freeware colored panels, glass buttons, and 3-D labels
you went to such trouble to get. [Who, slow down: the files will
still be there. It's just that the new compiled library will not
include them.]
