hi all,

im working on this project that needs to have support for other
languages other than english (ie. french, spanish, chinese, etc...),
for those dialog boxes, message boxes, text labels, menu etc...

what i have in mind is that i'll do it using string resources,
but i just want to get your expert opinion on this one.

thanks,
randy

Delphi 4 has built-in support for multilingual applications.
Basically a wizard will put all application forms resources in a
separated DLL so you can easily translate them. You supposed to create
a dll for each language you want to translate you application.

Don't use it !
It's a one-time pass, and if you do any changes later on, you're in biiiig
trouble. Get one of those intelligent language packs.

Here is one excellent language pack, called MultLang Suite:

Compare different approaches (Resource DLL's, Delphi 5 Translation
Suite, third party etc):

Hello.
Try out Multilizer. www.multilizer.com
It works exactly the same way in Delphi 1-5 and C++Builder 1-5.
We've been using it in Delphi and VB.

Xavier.
