Have a system developed with Interbase, a prospect not comfortable with
Interbase, would go with Sybase. Anybody has ported an application from
Interbase to Sybase (or has experience with both)? Big job? Does Sybase have
the equivalent of IB's single user "local SQL" for development, deployment
of beta test, etc?

Thanks for the info.

Most vendors have followed IB's lead on this. But if the customer is
comfortable with Sybase, may as well go with MS Sql Server, which is
Microsoft's incarnation of the same product. Write your contract so
that you have iron-clad dibs on getting paid for whatever time you spend
getting it to work, and ... go for it.
