main document window disappears when trying to resize

I have a document based application with a main window that, when I try
to resize the window, the window just completely disappears. The
application doesn't crash and I can open up another window by 'Project
--> New' in the main menu. And of course if I try to resize it, it will
disappear. And my debugger doesn't show anything when it disappears,
though I'm probably not looking at the right area with it.

Have you tried tethering the window to its super window before you resize it?
