Hi

How do we get a outer join in MSM-SQL? I need to solve this for making a
universe in Business Objects.

Mr. Grieg:

To perform an outer join in KB_SQL (aka MSM-SQL), use the syntax in the
following example:

SELECT E.EMP_SSN,E.NAME,P.PROJECT
FROM EMPLOYEES+ E, PROJECTS P
WHERE E.EMP_SSN = P.LEADER

Note the '+' on EMPLOYEES in the FROM clause. This will result in all
employee records being preserved, even if they are not designated project
leaders.

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

John,
Adding a + to the end of the table name in the from should allow you to do
an outer join...

like;

SELECT A.ID,A.NUM,B.PID
FROM EMP+ A, PROJ B
WHERE A.ID = B.MANID

Regards

Andrew
