http://www.geocities.com/mentifex/theory5.html -- a theory of mind
is being implemented as public domain artificial intelligence.

http://www.geocities.com/mentifex/webcyc.html#proglangs is a list
of languages from which people may select their favorite for PD AI.

Forth is the lingua franca of AI, embedded NC and robotics.
For details on Mind.Forth and the public domain AI project,
see the ACM Sigplan Notices 33(12):25-31 (December 1998),

don't get me started...
what some kooks down in the research labs do ,
doesn't really 'count'

anyway, it doesn't really matter, as long as the code
performs something interesting, that's the main issue.

i'm going to dissect your code, are you prepared ? ;-)

i hope that there aren't any license issues, if i should
port the VB version onto RobustAI.net for test purps...

ATM:
http://www.geocities.com/mentifex/mind4th.html Mind.Forth
needs a lot more work in the "spreading activation" area,
and so in the near future I am going to try to take some
time off from my bourgeois job in order to code in Forth.

Your proposal to re-do the AI from either VB or Forth
into Java is really quite exciting and tantalizing,
because a Javamind could naturally inhabit the 'Net.
Please do put your code up as a demo at Seth Russell's
http://robustai.net/mentifex/index.htm website and
wherever Java programmers may inspect your source.

ATM:
Yes, I am prepared, but please be advised as follows.

You can be really creative with the code only if you
take the time and effort to understand at least the
http://www.geocities.com/mentifex/theory5.html text
which is about sixteen pages long when printed out.

Please do not e-mail me with questions, but put them
right out here on Usenet for all the world to see and
answer. This request is for several reasons. Coding
AI, we are messing with everybody's future, so they
have a right to see what we are doing. But we won't
let individuals stop us, we will only let democracy
decide collectively to stop all AI efforts everywhere.

http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~phoenix/vinge/vinge-sing.html
says that nobody can stop or prevent the rush to AI anyway,
so let's speed it up and witness AI while we yet live.

You may need to make sure about public domain with the author of
http://www.virtualentity.com/mind/vb/ -- Mind.VB in Visual Basic.

Come one, come all AI hackers and mindmakers on 5-10 Aug 2001 to
http://www.geocities.com/mentifex/ijcpdai.html : IJCPDAI-01 the
International Joint Conference on PD Artificial Intelligence to be
held sub rosa in the coffee houses and 'Net cafes of Seattle WA USA.

Interesting, when I selected this post all my Kenjin came up with
were 4 references to 'lingua franca'.

So, does that mean that Arthur needs to do more PR ;-)

alright, if doable it will be in JavaScript which is not Java
Give me a couple of weeks...

well said.
I beleive this is the same spirit that can be found at RobustAI.Net

yup, no stopping to 'progress', never was, never will be.
Jump on the train or get run over...
