MacIvory/Linux NFS configuration

I've got a fairly simple network including, in relevant part, a Linux box with
NFS server software and a MacIvory on which I want to run the NFS client. I
am not running any variant of NIS and am struggling getting the Lisp Machine
set up properly. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has managed to
get this sort of setup working.
