xml parser in LISP

Hello,

I am new to LISP. As a part of a project I need to read information
from XMLs into Emacs. Could anyone suggest me how I could do it?
I have tried using xml-parse.el. But as I am new with this I could not
understand how I will use it to read a complete xml file and return a
(LISP) list.
