JScript Beginner

I am presently trying to get into HTML & JavaScript programming ; I already
have made some HTML pages that look good, and I would like to use JScript
for programming because I think CGI is bad and Java a little bit too
complcated for a dumb beginner.

My present wish is to be able to access an HTML page on precise anchord
from a previous one using a list form on which the user will point a
specific item. I have not found any way to do that with simple HTM syntax,
but have also been unable to find a direct answer in my JavaScript books.
Anybody has an idea?
