Hey,

Right now I'm using editplus under windows. I like this editor very
much cuz its so simple to use. (Easy compiling and use of other
tools). Another very important fact is that editplus doesn't need to
much memory.
Recently I'm experimenting with linux and I'm looking for a simular
editing program (for linux)with the same easy to use properties.
I already tried netbeans, jbuilder anyj, but I don't like them and
they use to much memory.

Thanks

I used to use EditPlus for all my different types of sourcecode because it
was so customizable, but then I found jEdit to use in Linux and ended up
using it in Win too. (www.jedit.org) It's written in Java, so x-platform,
it's opensource, and it has some nice plugins and things that I couldn't get
with EditPlus, like a built-in, color, side-by-side Diff utility and highly
customizable keyboard shortcuts (similar to emacs sequences), while keeping
the things EditPlus did have, like highly customizable context coloring,
template files, file searching, multiple buffers with tabs to switch between
them, and ftp remote support. It's pretty slick, and if you want something
it doesn't have, you can write your own Plugin for it. The macros are really
easy to write once you get the hang of it, too.
Hope you enjoy,

Buying more memory may be your best option. Computer programmers should
not have to develop on under-powered machines - it is a false economy.

I recommend checking out Glimmer! It's a pretty slick editor.
