I am learning Java and I was looking at a program on my desktop, it
has many files with a .JDB extension. Can any one tell me what are
these, can I open them or are they compiled files, if so are
decompilable ?

Thanks, I try searching but no luck

Sounds like something to do with the Java debugger, as in jdb.exe which you
should find in your java\bin directory, although Ive never heard of the jdb
file format? Of course thats probably complete rubbish.
Another possibility is that they are sone of the many, many, many files most
IDEs like to produce for no apparant reason? Do you use an IDE? Did you try
opening one of these files with a text editor? Whats it say? This is getting
interesting now ...

They are probably some file format used by that application. JDB is not
a commonly known extension among Java development circles... so there's
no answer without knowing the application.
