when I tried to update my working eclipse (GTK, build 200302061700, on
a Suse 8.1 linux system, blackdown j2sdk1.4.1),
the new version 3.0 M1 starts with an error message:
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
Some time ago I tried to install 2.1M5 and had similar problems. When
I returned to may older version (between 2.1M4 and M5) everything is
ok.
Result of the m5 integrity test for the zip-file: ok.
Any hints? Thanks.

Maybe that they really aren't supporting those old versions anymore as they
were not final releases. They probably changed something in the workspace
metadata that does not allow you to go from M4 to 3.0M1. Why were you still
using M4 instead of the released 2.1? I would try to go to 2.1 final before
anything else.

I had tried to install the final version 2.1 a few weeks ago, but I didn't
succeed. So I continued to work with my interim version. As I want to
pursue the eclipse development, I now tried to install the latest version,
which is milestone 1 of version 3.0. As in the case of the final release
2.1, I had startup problems. In the meantime I have sent a bug report to
eclipse.
Thanks for your help
