Hello everyone.
I'm absolutely new to Java (except a few attempts years ago which didn't get
anywhere) and have just been trying to install JDK 7. When I click on the
installer I get an error message:

jdk-7-windows-i586.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point DecodePointer could not be located in the dynamic
link library KERNEL32.dll.

Please can someone tell me how to fix this? The installer itself is
straight off the Oracle website, though there was a hitch or two in
downloading it.
Thanks,

My e-mail address is zen177395 at zendotcodotuk, though I don't check that
account very often.

I would bet it is corrupted. Try downloading again.

Darn it. That's a bit of a problem. You see the computer in question runs
XP and isn't connected to the Internet, so I can't just download SP2. Is it
possible to download SP2 on a Vista computer, save it and install it on the
other one? Can you even get XP SP2 any more, and if so where?
