Hi folks,

I have make some new stuff available on my personal website
(www.CiaranMcHale.com) that may be of interest to people on
these newsgroups.

- "Secure Communication Concepts Explained Simply". This is a
short (2- or 3-hour) training course that explains some of the
technologies that underpin security in computer systems. If
you need to learn about security in a middleware product but
don't know much about general security concepts then this
course will be of use to you.

- "Multi-threaded Performance Pitfalls". This is a 30-minute
presentation that explains why a process might slow down
dramatically as the number of threads in it increase or you
run it on a machine with more CPUs.

- "Java Reflection Explained Simply". This is a short (2-hour)
training course that explains the concepts of Java reflection.
Even if you don't need to program with Java's reflection
mechanism, it is useful to know a bit about it because it is
used by many popular tools, such as Ant, Eclipse, Spring and
Hibernate.

All of the above are released under an MIT-style open-source license
so
feel free to use them as you want, and pass them on to other people.

Other good (but not so new) things on my website include the "CORBA
Explained Simply" book and the "CORBA Utilities" package.

Regards,
Ciaran.
