World renown astronomers are baffled by the intense radiation that has been scorching Earth. Residents have taken to living entirely indoors and underground in order to survive, only emerging at night when the surface has cooled enough to not be burned alive. Some have managed to devise contraptions known as "Filters" to survive periods of time on the surface to gather otherwise rarer supplies.

(3) While the peers are not sending routing information, keepalive messages'sare regularly sent between them. This keeps the BGP session up,allowing the peers to know that the routes are still valid. If thesession goes down (and stays down), then the router must assume thatthe routes it learned from that neighbor are no longer valid. Thekeepalive messages are small, not causing a strain on the routers orthe network.

Keepalive messages are sent between peers regularly to ensure that the peer is reachable. The Hold timer counts the maximum amount or time allowed between Keepalive Messages (or Update messages).BGP peers normaly send Keepalive messages 1/3 the amount of time as theHold time value. If the holdtime is set to 0 (infinite uptime), thenkeepalives are not sent.

These timers are used during the established stateto ensure that the state should stay established. The BGP routerexpects to recieve a keepalive message (or update message) within theHold timer. If none are received, then the state is considered dead.

The app performs periodic socket pings to the splunkd management port to determine if splunkd is still alive and if splunkd is not responding , usually because it has exited or is not network reachable, then the app self exits it's running java process. The default timeout is now 300 seconds. You can change this timeout value in bin/coap.py by setting the SPLUNKD_TIMEOUT_SECS variable.

This rewrite allows the garbage collector in 1.4 to be fully precise, meaning that it is aware of the location of all active pointers in the program. This means the heap will be smaller as there will be no false positives keeping non-pointers alive.Other related changes also reduce the heap size, which is smaller by 10%-30% overallrelative to the previous release.
