I primarily use Win32forth, and occasionally I come across code
written in other versions and there are words - definitions not used
in win32forth. So, where can I go to look up these words and see what
it is they do? e,g, /split I have used a similar word in Perl but it
is not in win32forth.

Since Forth has an open-ended command set (that's one of its
advantages), this is inevitable. The best place to find documentation
on these extensions is the documentation for the version in question.
If that doesn't contain the information you need, contact the developer.
Most are happy to answer such questions.

Cheers,
Elizabeth
