I am looking for assembly level source code for any version of Forth
written for the Atmel AVR processor AT90S8515. I am looking to
customize it for embedded amateur robotics applications.

Cheers...

Look at MPE's AVR Forth at http://www.mpeltd.demon.co.uk, the
manual is available for download, and the price is good as well.

Looks like an excellent commercial tool and at $395 US hard to beat for
the features. However in the spirit of the internet are there any
noncommercial options to Forth on the Atmel AVR.

Cheers...

We have a complete SwiftX system for the AVR8515. It includes a Windows-based
development environment supporting interactive debugging with the target, a
multitasking target kernel supplied with all source and libraries, extensive
documentation and support. It will be very easy to customize as you need. For
more information see our web site under "SwifX".

We have a number of other customers in Boeing using SwiftX; perhaps our sales
dept can put you in touch with them. Contact forth...@forth.com.

Best regards,
Elizabeth

We here in Holland have a prototype of AVR ByteForth an interactive
macro compiler for AVR chips. Its a Forth with a bytewide stack and
conforms almost to the ANS Forth standard. It will never conform
completely because ANS does not allow a byte wide stack.
The system should support all classic AVR chips with 128 bytes RAM or
more. Look for more details to the ByteForth system for 8051 chips in
the FAQ about systems.

I will sent you a copy of the AVR ByteForth prototype. The system is an
AVR assembler, disassembler, simulator and a optimizing macrocompiler
and works with the STK200 kit from ATMEL or KANDA systems.
