Hi,

Our company uses a Forth-83 compliant metacompiler/interpreter for
6811 from LMI laboratories. We have made some changes to the compiler
to make it work on 68hc12 controller but it does not take advantage of
all the features of the 68hc12 controller.

What we are looking for is a cheap compiler/interpreter which can run
on 68hc12 and take advantage of all its capabitlities. Our code uses 4
threads so the Forth interpreter should support threading. Also
hopefully the changes needed in our code should be minimal.

It would also be nice if we can write some C code in it. i.e the
metacompiler/interpreter can accept both Forth and C code.

Besides, has anyone tried to port the LMI 6811 metacompiler to work
with and take advantage of newer features of 68hc12?

Thanks in advance
Nihar Desai

We offer SwiftX for the 68HC12. It does include a multitasker that
is similar to the one in LMI's systems, and we have quite a number
of customers who have converted to SwiftX from LMI. The software
is relatively inexpensive ($450, including all target source). Please
see our web site www.forth.com or contact sa...@forth.com for
more info.

Cheers,
Elizabeth

See the Forth 6 VFX cross compiler for the 68HC12/9S12 at
www.mpeltd.demon.co.uk/forth6.htm

There is also a C to Forth compiler which can be used at
www.mpeltd.demon.co.uk/arena/c2forth110.zip

What does cheap mean?

Thanks a lot guys!
I will get in touch with your respective companies to get more
details.

By cheap, I mean we would be reluctant to pay a licensing fee for each
of the 68hc12 we use in our products. One time cost is fine.

Thanks again
Nihar

Hi,

I have been unable to contact your sales staff. The e-mail just
bounces back and the number goes to a voice mail. I need some
information urgently.

1. Does the ROMable code include the FORTH interpreter? (I believe Pro
version has it)

2. Is there any licensing fee for using the FORTH interpreter/compiler
etc. in our product.

i.e currently all our 68hc12's used in our flowmeters ship with the
complete interpreter. Do you expect us to pay any license fee if we
use your product?

3. Is there any way we can write C code in our program?

Thanks and Regards
Nihar Desai

There are no royalties on turnkey apps. A Forth interpreter/compiler
can be run on the target.

Banking and the MMU are supported on the 68HC12/9S12.

We do not charge for individual kernels in your targets. Our charge is per
"seat" for the development system.
