Hi,

I have a client who uses IBM's Visual Age to generate COBOL CICS
applications that run on VSE. They'd like to move off of VSE and
onto Windows using a 3rd party CICS, but still use Visual Age.

Does anyone know, is it possible to replace the mainframe CICS and
Visual Age runtimes with Windows based Visual Age runtimes and a
3rd party CICS like MicroFocus Mainframe Express ?

Thanks in advance,

IBM used to ship a version of CICS for OS/2 and Windows with the v2.2
Enterprise compiler.

I just went and checked the box for IBM COBOL version 3 for NT and it
has a CD with CICS v3 for Windows as well.

Ethan,
The Progeni Corporation has several products that might help. While they
don't have a direct CICS emulator or replacement, they do have automated
migration processes that can move that code to a functionally equivalent
environment. And they have a COBOL generator that can keep your application
platform independent.
Their web site is at www.progeni.com and you can contact them at
