file server Windows 2008 32-bit <->Windows 7 64 bit , slow DBF access

Users complain that my programs, compiled with HB 2.0, 32-bit, DBF/NTX,
run significantly slower on new computers with Windows 7 64 bit than on
old ones with XP.
DBF's are stored on Windows 2008 (not R2), 32-bit.
There are another PC's with Win 7 32-bit in the same network, no speed
degradation.
Any suggestions?
