The offical Visual Objects 2.7 Pre Sales page is now ready to take pre
orders. Credit Cards will NOT be charged until the product ships (as
always). The idea here is to get an idea of how many pre order we can get
on file to better estimate the demand for VO 2.7.
It's a good idea to get your order in ASAP, to show your support of Visual
Objects, and to insure yourself a good place in the cue (line). Last years
2.6
orders took us almost three weeks to ship. If we know in advance, we can
hire the appropate help facalitate these orders.
Please vist http://www.grafxsoft.com/vo27.htm to place your orders.
Thanks to those who have already placed orders . We currently have
orders for 2.7 from the following countries.
Germany
USA
Norway
Liechtenstien
The Netherlands
France
Italy
United Kingdom
Canada
Belgium
Argentina
Malaysia
India
Finland
Switzerland
Australia
Slovenia
Denmark
Israel
Poland
Portugal
France
Spain
Greece
Get your country on the list.......... "VO 2.7 the best version of VO ever"
We appricate the faith and trust that you have put in GrafX.
Thanks to all 2.6 users who have help to support the future of Visual
Objects.

I certainly hope so.
mmm... You will love Summer here.. A bit like Florida with less humidy and
5-8%C hotter depending on the day.
If you visit I will pick you up in Sydney and I can take you to Nelson Bay
and Central Coast and the wineries.
Then you can see another fantastic country.

Sorry, but the best restaurants in Oz are in Melbourne, and then Sydney.
Italian and Greek.. yep.. but for Asian food Sydney is pretty good.

I'm not saying that it's not. The best Thai in Sydney is a mile or so
from my place, down in Double Pay.
But Sydney has too many Asian restaurants these days. Probably something
like 70% are Asian, and the best in Melbourne are probably still better
than the best in Sydney.
Of course, Sydney does have the best seafood in Oz, and the second best
in the world. :)
Have you had a look at the Inner city population lately...?
I think the 70% says it all.

I think PERTH is underrated for Seafood.. Absolutely fantastic.

Now there's a thought! ...is there one close to a beach somewhere? <g>
Actually the Hunter Vallery wineries are really not the far (say 35-40
minutes) to beach.
It is this about this far to Nelson Bay... but why would want to go the
beach when the rural scenary and ammenties are so great.
The problem is a conference like this would require international vistors to
take 2 flights.

Be careful what you wish for. I could show up and not leave for a long time.
Sounds like I've got a lot of nice offers here. TVM
When it comes to Food, I'm sticking with Gary. He's put me on to several
great restaurants in Southern California (Laguna) that were just excellent.
If the timing between the UK Devcon and the Aussie Devcon work out this

Depends whether you want to get there without all the road travel.
Two flights if you Fly to Sydney and then to the Wineries region airport and
a lot fly to Belmont or Williamstown.
It is a a bit of a haul from Sydney airport to the Wineries... At least
90-120 minutes drive.

Excellent point Geoff ! I'd say that for every one poster there
are 50 Lurkers. Frankly a lot of the time I'm in the Lurker category<g>
I think it would do us a world of good, to be sensitive as to what
we post here, as people from all walks of life, and from every part
of the globe use Visual Objects as a solution to solve Business and
Scientific problems.
Last year in Nuremberg I had the opportunity to see an Visual Objects
application that controlled the Security at U.N. Belgium. Very Impressive !
Good things are being done with Visual Objects globally..Let try to
keep in mind, we all in this together.

Maybe I'm missing a subtlety here, but WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU DRINK
BUTTERSCOTCH SCHNAPPS AT A WINERY???? You can get that at the grocery store.
Believe it or not, the 'North Coast' of Ohio has some fine wineries. Just
south of Lake Erie is some fine grape growing areas
I apologize if you do mean Butterscotch Snaps and it's some kind of Aussie
pastry.

There are lot of Wineries in this district and a small local market so they
tend to have a few speciality 'items' that sell well.
Probably just for cash flow. The exports are huge these days.
One interesting product is "Chili Snaps"... and of course the old perrenial
"Butterscotch Schaps".
Hey the Cheeses are good and even the Chocolate factory.. worth a look.

Peter, I acutally canvassed this with Brian at Devcon in July. I too think
this is a great idea. I beleive that most of the bigger VO workshops would
go for this just for its simplicity. Sure the small guy not dabbling into
the depths of ADO or bBrowser etc might not be interested but it would save
me going to 5 different agencies for the source code pro versions. Brian did
raise the issue of coordination and pricing... its not a trivial exercise
from his perspective... but he did say he would look at it.
If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, please attach a note to the
thread.

The idea/concept of an application show is one that I would whole heartedly
endorse.
Peter Drucker has an expression, that "it's more important to do the right
thing, than to do things right." I have often felt that this forum (the ng)
is an excellent way to learn "to do things right." An opportunity to see
the end product of others, and the discussion it would most assuredly
engender, would allow all of us a greater insight as to whether we are
"doing the right thing" (in addressing certain larger scale issues).
Here's hoping Oskar still has the stomach for such things <g>.

Its serious work! Its not a trivial exercise.
