Windows 8 - ntdll.dll

Hi everyone,
I've bought a new laptop with Windows 8 and I've installed V.O. 2.6.
First VO worked fine but now it doesn't even start. I get the following error message:
"An unhandled exception (0xC00000005) occured inside module ntdll.dll at 0x774B579C"
Any ideas?

some years ago, when i switched to Win7 i encountered the same problem with
VO 2.5. After selecting one of the comp modes VO started, but trying to
open the window and fieldspec editors failed with an "Subsystem not
available" error. Because VO 2.6 is more or less the same as VO 2.5, i´m
pretty sure that you have to switch to - at least - VO 2.7.
