Is there a template available, such as netalk does for email?

Is there a way (maybe a service provider?) to do SMS using e-mail? I would
like to be able to send an e-mail message from my CW app. Then that e-mail
destination sends the message via SMS to the owner of that e-mail account.
Is there anything like that? That way I don't have to add anything new on
the CW side, just continue sending e-mail like I already do, yet be able to
do SMS via the service provider, or whatever. Thanks!

HI,
I'm working on SMTP server, actually semi-server <g> it will have feature to
receive mail and forward them as SMS, but you have to remember, normal
message size is 160chars and when you're about to send mail, for example
1600 chars in size, that will take 10 separate messages, each one will pay
as much as you're paying per sent SMS message right now .
But hey, you said you don't like to add anything new into your app, why?
Just drop the template and:
SendSms(+358401234567,'Hi Brian, how are you?',0,0)
or
MobileNro = '+358401234567'
MessageToSend = 'Hi Brian, how are you?'
SendSms(MobileNro,MessageToSend,0,0)
That's about all you need to do, easy ha? If you are going to use separate
application with mail interface (as you requested), how are you going to be
sure that everything is okay and messages you sent are truly delivered?
With our lib you can ask:
- signal level in arbitrary units if the phone supports
- battery level in arbitrary units if the phone supports
- if the phone is connected to an external power supply
- network information
... to be absolutely sure everything is in order.
With message: '#k Hi Brian, how are you?' I will receive free of charge
acknowledgement right after the receiver has received sent message.
That will enhance confidence for the service you're about to offer :-)
PS.
#k (token/control character) is used by Sonera, Finnish mobile operator.

Ville
Seeing you are from SA try www.clickatell.com
You setup an acount with them and email the SMS. It works very well.
I have used the messaging templates (I can hear everybody groan!) to send
the SMS and the recipients get the message almost instantly.
