Oracle version: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)

Using CW55D, Oracle 8i, win 2000.

Have been moving a multi-dll application from mssql to oracle.

Moved the data definitions through oracle workbench, worked fine.

I exported the MSSQL clarion dictionary and replaced the driver to oracle.

Exported the apps, changed the dictionary in the .txa files, changed the
.lib's to appropriate names, because the .dll's have a little different
names. Created empty applications and imported the .txa files.

The apps then compiled just fine. But the application refuses to run. I
can't
even debug because I get a crash before the debugger can get into gear, with
the following:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK
to terminate the application.

Has anyone experienced this or can (hopefully) point a finger at some gross
stupidity on my part???

The oracle example application which ships with clarion, compiles and runs
fine.

Sorry I can't help, but my application started to do the same thing on
Monday. Can't debug either. I think it is in my files dll. Made a
change to my dictionary on Monday and it's been broke since then.

Are you using any 3rd party templates? I've also been through the txa
route but no luck.

Aw, lazy me,

Found out when examining dictionary, oracle doesn't want decimal but
pdecimal. So data specified as decimal in MSSQL dictionary showed up as
empty when the dictionary was imported as oracle dictionary. Changed all
these to pdecimal in oracle dict., recompiled and voila!

(As a sidenote the apps compiled ok even though the datatype showed up as
empty in dictionary, but crashed when run -- would like the compiler to give
me a big scream here ...)
