I'm trying to write data to D/A board, and the manual says ". . .the data should be in offset binary code." I know that is fundamental, but I can't remember it. Can someone either tell me how to convert shorts to "offset binary" or point to Q/A etc where it might be discussed? Thanks much. Ray

Subtract half the largest possible number to get the result. The advantage is that 0 is the smallest output from the ADC, and 1111... the largest. Note that 1000... is 0, and the MSB the sign.
