I am sorry Peter Cheung is commenting on my various posts each time I
post anything about Jesus and forgiveness of sin through Him.

Peter became very upset with my posts in alt.os.development. He took
to impersonating me, posting over 200 impersonation posts in many
channels in November. These were in addition to his normal attack
posts which you still see.

He issued death threats against me and my family and lost his long-
established GitHub account in the process. He created a second GitHub
account and devoted the description to disparaging me, and lost that
account as well. He blames me for the losses as he apparently lost
some repositories that he had no backup for, including at least one
NetBeans plugin.

I contacted GitHub and asked them to restore his account. They did
not do it. I contacted Peter and offered to help him rewrite his
NetBeans plugin. I've told Peter I forgive him, and desire to be his
friend and not his enemy, but he will have none of it.

I do not know what to do with Peter other than pray for him. If you
are a Christian, please join me in reaching out to Peter in prayer. I
desire to see him saved and not lost to judgment on that final day.

Until then, I am sorry for his many hate-filled posts. He is a much
hurting man, but until He realizes the true love, peace, joy, and fir-
giveness of Jesus Christ, his posts will likely continue.

-----
As with all of my efforts in all areas, I seek to glorify God and to
bring the reality of His presence and influence into your life. There
is a real enemy at work in this world deceiving people into hate. If
you are not careful and attentive to your life and do not heed the
many warnings of Christ given by men and women like me who point you
to Him, that enemy will consume you, and your sin will overrun your
soul on judgment day.

I care about you and teach you the truth because I want you to be
saved.

Consider these words, and read the New Testament to learn who Jesus is
and why I teach about Him. It really is for valid reasons.

He has as much right to post off-topic crap here as you have.

It's certainly not your place to apologise for him, though you could
apologise for inciting all these idiots and trolls with your arrogant,
judgemental, tedious bull, which is embarassing even to other Christians.

I have not apologized for him. I said I was sorry he is posting
such hate-filled messages whenever I post. He is doing this increasingly
whether I post "on topic" or "off topic."

Well, if he is in California, he could be charged with a 422. This is a felony. However, the DA will sometimes excercise what is known as the wobbler law. This means the felony would be reduced to a misdemeanor.

I am in Indianapolis, IN. Peter is in Hong Kong. It makes me wonder
why it's such a big deal to him. I mean, what is it about the posts I
write that he takes offense at that makes people so angry? The people
I'm posting to who disagree with me already believe I'm wrong ... so
why get so angry? Why not just ignore me and write me off as the total
kook lunatic man they already think I am?

What is it that drives people to get so angry over those posts?

I know it's hopeless, but since you ask: it's topicality. Usenet is a
huge space in which people can discuss anything they want (even if most
of it is now a ghost town). If you want to have a conversation about X,
you go to newsgroup X. For topic Y, you go to Y.

So, when people go to comp.lang.c, they want discussions about the C
programming language. When they go to comp.arch, it's because they want
to talk about computer architecture.

If I go to comp.lang.c and find somebody bringing up some totally
irrelevant topic out of the blue, it's an annoyance. It doesn't matter
if it's dog training, guns, 3D printing, or model rockets, it's still an
annoyance (why did I pick those topics? Because they're all interests
of mine. Just not interests I'm expecting to hear about here).

The more someone persistently, incessantly, continually, insists on
bringing up an irrelevant topic, the more frustrating it becomes, and
the greater the extent they get ignored.

So, yes. The reaction to your posts ranges from embarrassment from
those of us who actually agree with your philosophy but would prefer to
set an example that might encourage someone to follow it rather than
make people actively hostile, to rage on the part of people who disagree
and don't want to hear about how they're wrong.

I didn't ask the question because I didn't know the answer. It was
to get people to think about it.

The Lord commands us to teach, not just do. That is a protractive
effort involving lots of foundation and information.

The enemy thrives in environments of lies, misunderstandings, partial
truths. "My people perish from lack of knowledge."

It is our duty to actively live our lives for Him, and teach about
Him. Not just incidentally as we go, but actively. We teach in both
ways, but neither is to be ignored by our attention.

That is the heart of the matter:

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+3%3A19&version=KJV

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come
into the world, and men loved darkness rather than
light, because their deeds were evil.

Do not let the evil requests and deeds of perishing men and women
dissuade you from continuing to teach the truth.

The message is given for those who will be saved, not for those who
won't. Remember them in your teaching. Labor for them.

It's why our Lord endured the cross.
